Who
Founded by Demian Garcia Scalici, an accomplished business leader, educator, and entrepreneur, alongside his wife, Sarah, a beloved local high school teacher. Don Empanadas is a true family business, with their three daughters actively contributing to its growth and success. Demian’s father in Argentina also plays a key role, providing expert guidance on traditional dough-making techniques.
Why
Don Empanadas was born out of founder Demian Garcia Scalici’s passion for food, family, and culture. Originally from Argentina, Demian wanted to share the flavors and traditions he grew up with while creating a business where his family could work and grow together. Combining authentic recipes with modern twists, Don Empanadas brings a fresh, global flavor to Connecticut's food scene.
How
Each empanada is made entirely from scratch, from the handmade dough to the carefully developed fillings. Inspired by Argentine culinary traditions, every recipe balances heritage with creativity, resulting in flavors that are both comforting and bold.
